When Sasha Baron Cohen released his 2005 movie: "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan." The country of Kazakhstan was outraged by the portrayal of their country. They objected to the way the country was portrayed as racist, sexist and primitive. In fact, they even threatened to sue Sasha Baron Cohen and they banned copies of the movie from being distributed in the country.

Seven years later, though and the country is singing a different song. The movie was such a hit that it put Kazakhstan on the map for many tourists. The Foreign Minister for the country has gone on record to thank Sasha Baron Cohen for the movie, saying that his country has issued 10 times more visas since the movie was released. The movie has had such an impact on Kazakhstan’s image on most people's minds, that the fake anthem made for the movie was recently played at a sports event in Kuwait.
