Kurt Cobain was born in 1967 and was one of the most defining characters of the 90’s rock/grunge movement as the lead singer and guitarist of Nirvana. Cobain was even hailed as the “spokesman of a generation.” Some of Nirvana’s most famous songs are “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Come As You Are”. As famous and influential as Cobain was, he always felt misunderstood and that his message was not getting through to the crowd.

He struggled with personal problems and in the later years of his life became addicted to heroin and committed suicide at the age of 27. Cobain drew the attention of nearly everyone in the country and beyond. He had been so influential during his lifetime that his hometown of Aberdeen, Washington rewrote their town motto after one of his songs. It now reads, “Welcome to Aberdeen. Come As You Are.”
