There's a species of pigeon that can do back flips!
Birmingham Rollers are a popular breed of domesticated pigeons. They were selectively bred in Birmingham, England in order to develop their ability to do backflips while flying!
What's more interesting is that there is no known reason for why these birds do the backwards summersaults. Scientists have found that they are genetically predisposed to flip backwards and they understand the mechanics. However, the best explanation they've come up with for why they do it is that 'they enjoy the feeling.' Check out an awesome video of these birds in action below!
