The most money you could possibly win in a game of Jeopardy! is $566,400
Of course, there’s technically no limit to how much money you could win from Jeopardy! When you win a game, you get to come back next time as the returning champion. Ken Jennings played 75 games in a row, winning over $3 million. Still, if you’re in a rush, here’s how to win the most amount of money possible on Jeopardy! in one day:
- First of all, you have to answer every single one of the questions (err, answers?). You can’t get anything wrong or let anyone else answer correctly.
- Second, you have to wager everything you have during the Daily Doubles and Final Jeopardy!; don’t hold back.
- Third, and this is the tricky part, is you have to be extremely lucky. To maximize your earnings, you need to start with the highest valued clues in each category and work you’re way down and the Daily Doubles will have to be the last clues left on the Jeopardy! board. This is completely outside of your control, so even if you’re a super-genius there’s no guarantee that you’ll make the $566,400.
We crunched the numbers ourselves, but when we were done we found out that someone had already done the math and posted it on Yahoo! Answers.
Note: The abundant exclamation points aren’t there because we’re ridiculously excited (we are, but that’s irrelevant). They’re there because that’s how Jeopardy! and Yahoo! are supposed to be spelled.
