Pubic Lice are becoming an endangered species. As cases of this parasite become less and less common, doctors think that the popularity of bikini waxing, and in particular Brazilian waxing has played a large role in this development. For example, in Australia, no women have been seen with crabs at Sydney’s main sexual health clinic since 2008. Male cases have fallen 80% in 10 years.
Unlike with other endangered species, no one is mourning this loss. Scientists say that destroying their habitat is good, and we’ll continue doing it: about 80% of college students say they remove their pubic hair these days.
Street groping has a specific term in Japan (chikan), and it's so widely spread, that it affect males and females alike. There have even been movies made about the legal troubles of people who were accused of groping.
Crowded trains are a particularly hot target for gropers. A survey of Japanese high-schoolers revealed that 70% of them said they'd been groped during a train. To combat this problem, some railway companies designate special women-only passenger cars during rush hours. Other targets for groping are bicycle parking areas because people have to bend over to unlock them.
Society tells us that men should always be on the prowl for casual hookups, thinking about sex every seven seconds, but according to a recent study men don’t think about sex any more than food or sleep.

OKCupid, the free online dating site, comes out with a lot of interesting statistics on their users. This is an interesting one, because it affects something a lot of people are sensitive about: how they look.
They ran some numbers on how male and female users of their site rate members of the opposite sex. When men rated women on a scale of 1 to 5, they found that Men tended to rate women on a pretty standard curve: a woman had an equal chance of being rated extremely ugly as she did extremely beautiful.
However, when they ran the numbers for females, they rated 80% of guys as worse than medium-looking. They have harsher standards than men! Check out the blog post for more info
Scientists are a little taken aback by their recent finding of Swedish sex workers. The Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs published a study yesterday that found that 2.1% of Swedish males aged 16 to 25 had prostituted themselves in 2012. This is compared to 0.8 percent of women.
The scientists cannot figure out why guys outnumber girls. One possible theory is that most of the males are young gay men who have an easier time accepting their sexuality if they do it in exchange for something. Even more interesting is that 21.9% of those interviewed thought it was acceptable for people to be paid for sex.
And before you think that it's older people who are giving these young’uns their business, it seems that about half of the clients for those under 26 were also themselves under 26.
Catarina Migliorini of Brazil is making headlines for auctioning off her virginity for $780,000. The winner of the bid is a Japanese man only known as Natsu. The auction caught the eye of bidders from not just Japan and Brazil, but also the US, Australia and even India.
To avoid any legal problems, the one-hour session with the girl will take place on an airplane flying over international waters. Romantic, no? The auction was organized by an Australian filmmaker who's making a documentary about it. Again, romantic, no?
Lest you call her an offensive name, the girl says she will donate 90% of the money to charities that are building homes for the poor in her native state in Brazil. However, her sister has disputed this claim.
Catarina is not the only one who's doing this for the Australian filmmaker, 21-year-old Alexander Stepanov also participated in the documentary, but his v-card only managed to raise $3,000. Ironically, the lucky lady lives in Brazil.
If you’ve been to New York, you’d question why this was such a pressing matter that someone took the time to put it into legislation. For 80% of the year in New York, it’s a bit cold for going topless.
The ruling was first made in 1992, following the case known as The People v. Ramona Santorelli and Mary Lou Schloss. During that case, multiple women were arrested for violating decency laws. Like with many places where being topless is legal, it was argued then that it was discriminatory because the same standard wasn’t help to men.
The New York Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the women, and it’s been legal ever since. Meanwhile, San Francisco could be in the process of banning nudity.
Men produce better sperm when watching porn depicting multiple men.
This actually holds true for males of many species. When surrounded by other competing males, an individual male’s sperm quality will increase to compensate for the competition. This increases his likelihood of procreating. In a study, heterosexual men provided semen samples while looking at explicit pictures of either two men with a woman or three women. Though the sperm counts didn’t differ between the two testing groups, the men looking at the images of two men produced higher quality sperm.
This might be enough to get some people to quit. A study has found that men who quit smoking had improved erections and reached maximal arousal 5 times faster than smokers who relapsed.
Researchers recruited 65 men who were quitting using nicotine patches (and no other drugs) and they were willing to be… measured in a lab a few times. They found that men who had successfully quit improved their sexual performance. Interestingly, the men reported no subjective improvement in their own ratings of sexual functioning.

In the 16th and 17th centuries, France had impotence courts. Husbands could be charged with erectile dysfunction and had to prove otherwise in front of witnesses. A husband’s inability to perform was one of the few reasons that the Church would allow a marriage to be annulled, so disgruntled women who could afford the legal costs would regularly charge their husbands with “injurious non-consummation” before ecclesiastical courts.
The onus was placed on the husband to demonstrate his powers of erection before an expert team of priests, surgeons, and midwives. These learned observers would carefully examine his equipment to reach an opinion on its “elastic tension” and “natural motion,” before demanding “proof of ejaculation.” Any man who failed this test had only one more chance to avoid becoming a laughing-stock. He could demand Trial by Congress, where he would have sex with his wife before the team of experts as 100 percent proof that he could perform.
The astonishing piece of legal pornography would take place in a neutral territory agreed upon by both parties. The married couple was examined by the court to make sure they were not concealing any devices, were watched during the act carefully, and examined afterwards.
Everyone knows that sex is enjoyable. More than that, there are many other benefits to sex beyond just the fact that it is fun. One is that it can help with a fever. Sex works as a natural antihistamine that combats fever and even asthma.
There is a lengthy list of other health benefits as well. Women’s bodies produce more estrogen when they’re having sex making their hair shinier and their skin softer. Sex also burns calories and strengthens muscles.
It also sharpens senses and acts as a natural painkiller. Levels of the hormone oxytocin rise and release a deluge of endorphins. These endorphins calm pain that results from any number of maladies, from migraines to arthritis.
