The most commonly used letter in the English alphabet is "E."




The most frequently-used consonant in our language is "T." As you might have guessed, the least common letter is "Z," followed closely by "Q." Approximately half of all English words end in either "E," "T," "D," or "S." Ironically, only three of the top 20 most frequently-written words contain an "E," though!
