When Rosa Parks refused to go to the back of the bus, it was the SECOND time she'd had a run in with that same driver!

The most famous of these encounters was on December 1, 1955, when John Blake, a Montgomery Bus driver instructed Rosa Parks and three other black people were instructed to move to the back of the bus to make room for a white passenger. She famously refused, and was arrested. This eventually led to the abolition of segregation in the United States.

However, that wasn't the first time that they had run into each other! Sometime in 1943, 12 years before her arrest, Parks boarded the bus and paid the fare. The driver then told her she had to follow city rules and exit the bus and enter from the back door. When she did that, the bus drove off without her. Rosa Parks had to walk home in the rain!
