Though Disney tended not to reuse voice actors in films, Sterling Holloway was a notable exception. In addition to playing Winnie the Pooh in cartoons made in the 1960s and 1970s and his appearance in the Jungle Book, Holloway was also the voice of Roquefort the mouse in the Aristocats, the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, the stork in Dumbo, and the adult voice for Flower in Bambi. Holloway was a prolific actor who also appeared in a large number of live action films and television shows. Check out his IMDB profile.

More fun facts about The Jungle Book: In the original book from Rudyard Kipling, Kaa isn’t a villain that tries to eat Mowgli, like he is in the Disney movie. He’s one of Mowgli’s mentors, like Baloo, and he also saves his life in the story. Apparently, Walt Disney told his employees to not read the book when coming up with the story for the movie.

As you can see from the picture, Sterling Holloway’s voice talents weren’t the only parts of The Jungle Book that were reused for Winnie the Pooh. Click here for more examples of Disney recycling.
