Kurt Cobain overdosed on heroin, was injected with antidote by Courtney Love, and then played a concert.

Kurt Cobain was the famous musician and lead singer/guitarist of Nirvana. Nirvana’s first album was released in 1989 before their breakout success with “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in their 1991 album. In Nirvana’s height of popularity, Cobain was hailed as the spokesman of a generation, but this didn’t sit well with him. Cobain felt the public misinterpreted his artistic vision.

Cobain had a history of drug use, and before a performance at the New Music Seminar in New York City in 1993, Cobain suffered a heroin overdose. Instead of calling an ambulance, his wife Courtney Love injected him with Narcan to bring him out of his unconscious state. It brought him right back, and Cobain performed with Nirvana later that day without mentioning a word of his overdose.

Cobain struggled with his addiction to heroin, and at the last years of his life he also suffered from severe depression. On March 3, 1994, Cobain attempted to kill himself by overdosing on a combination of champagne and Rohypnol. On April 8 of the same year, Cobain was found dead, having committed suicide at only 27 years old.
